Dickey, John A. (American Flag) - September 12, 1946 - September 17, 2017 - Dearest beloved of Donna M. (nee Chu) Dickey and the late Margaret Dickey. Son of the late Helen Hampe (nee Savko) and Arthur (Rose) Dickey. Father of Deeanna (neeGreico) (Ralph) Cavigilano and Timothy Lee Dickey . Brother of Ronald (Robin) Dickey, Sharon Ray and the late Lorrie "Butch" Dickey. Uncle of Anna Ray and Jennifer (nee Ray) (Ronnie) Boykin, Grandfather of Mariah Greico, Elizabeth Grace Dickey, Tamara Evans, Haley Ray, Christopher Boykin, Allison Boykin, Jayonna McGee and Jada McGee.Great grandfather of Paris and Landon Evans. Also survid by many other relatives and friends. John was a retired Lieutenant with the New York State Department of Corrections. the family will receive friends at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 911 Englewood Ave. for Memorial Visitation Friday, October 6th from 3-7 PM. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church 263 Claremont Ave. Tonawanda, NY 14223 Saturday, October 7th at 11:00 AM. (PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH). Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Contributions in John's memory may be to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or Camp Good Days and Special Times as John had a special place in his heart for these organizations.
