Trips to Buffalo were all the richer when we knew we would also be seeing Dick and the Hartmans. No matter the occasion, there always seemed to be a uniquely strong feeling of warmth and belonging. I remember coming away from time with them reminded of the goodness and character of our extended family. Just a few hours together would somehow true up your compass to the basics of selflessness and love. I’ll carry his memory forward every time I greet a neighbor, help a friend or see anyone in need. Thank you Dick and Lillian for being such great examples. Zach Schruers

Our family spent countless holidays with the Hartman family, we had such fun growing up. Uncle Dick had such a great laugh! What Uncle Dick loved most of all was his wife Aunt Lil and his 6 children, then his dogs, and his love of fishing. But his family was the most important. His was a caring man, and he reached out to others in small yet meaningful ways... I remember seeing him pass a dozen donuts to the trash men as they came down the street to collect his trash. All were blessed to know him, and he will be missed.
Peace and love to Aunt Lil and the Hartman Family
