He was very hardworking. He introduced the importance of gardening and landscaping to his family. His yard would often be filled with many fruits and vegetables, particularly fresh tomatoes. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He taught his grandchildren many life lessons, especially how important it was to take care of your family, explore the world, travel, have adventures, and get an education. He was a very protective and nurturing man, and beloved and cherished by his grandchildren. John was a great dancer and loved dancing with his wife. He certainly had the moves. He had a sweet tooth, cared and provided for his family, and loved traveling the world with his wife, and being a snowbird in Florida with his wife. John and Shirlee enjoyed dancing to jazz, blues and country western music at Wilson Boathouse, Elmwood Lounge, River Grill and Denise and Dwane Holl's Sportsmen Tavern. They traveled across the USA, Canada, and Europe several times and enjoyed many winters in Jensen Beach, Florida.
